Merry Christmas!

I've known this couple since middle school.  This painting was a present from wife to husband for the first Christmas of their marriage.  I am told that husband "loved the painting," which pleases me.

A shot to show off the glitter.

My nursing student friend has a wonderful professor for whom she wrote a beautiful letter of recommendation.
I was commissioned to turn that letter into a poster for the professor; complete with special memories and inside jokes.

Thank you to UConn's Document Production Center, always fabulous with their large scale poster printing.

I have recently come to an important realization.  I hate shopping with a fiery passion.  And yet, I am not a man.  How is this possible?
There are many reasons, but I only doodled about one of them.   And I'm not even going to clean it up digitally because you blog followers should know that I just took a photo of my sketchbook and called it a day.

Pins for the Bridal Party

I would like to begin this post by declaring that I have always been bad at craft time.
However, these bridal shower pins are basically a craft so there.
The pins before I stuck gems on them.
My pin.

Another bridal shower creation.  I have one more to post after this but then I'll be done.  I promise.

There's the lovely bride-to-be!

Thinking about how blessed I feel to laugh with him, pray with him, fix things, hike, make things, struggle together through what it means when two sinners fall in love; and God is sovereign through our broken mess and I think that's beautiful.

But I'm not good with words so I make him this Valentine and tell him, "I love you even more than I love glitter glue."
He gets it.

Sorry it's been over a month since I've posted; I've been busy stitching my ex's together to make a wedding dress.
Just kidding that's illegal and totally disgusting what kind of a sick person would make a joke like that?  What is wrong with me...
But I did spend a lot of time reflecting on Israel and my own brokenness while working on this painting, which I started at the end of the summer.

Linking up with Emily's last (for now!) Imperfect Prose.
